Region 7 Southwestern Super Series Announces 2006 Schedule

Los Angeles, CA- The 2006 International Kart Federation Region 7 Southwestern Super Series Regional Championship racing schedule was announced today by Don St. Ours, Regional Coordinator and Deborah Davidson-Harpur, Media Relations for the series.

The series will consist of 7 races hosted at 6 different facilities by 7 different host clubs or promoters. There will be one-drop race in the series. With major sponsorships in the works for the series, St. Ours is hard at work to bring the membership another year of outstanding racing.

The 2006 Championship series will start off with a bang February 4 – 5 at the Cal Speed track at California Speedway in Fontana. Karting Ventures will host the event.

Then it’s Vegas, Baby when the series travels to Buffalo Bills in Primm, Nevada on March 4-5 for the event hosted by the Kerman Kart Club.

No Fooling, the next event will be at Buttonwillow Kart track in Buttonwillow, CA on April 1 – 2 and will be hosted by the Bakersfield Kart Club.

The May event will be at Moran. Moran Raceway in Beaumont, CA on May 6-7, hosted by the Tri-C karters.

When the summer heat hits, the Southwestern Super Series will be back at Cal-Speed in Fontana for an event hosted by the Los Angeles Kart Club on June 17 –18.

The Willow Springs Kart Club will host the next event on their track at Willow Springs Raceway on September 9 – 10.

The final race of the season will be held October 7-8 at Grange Motor Circuit.

The organizers of this series worked hard to get what the karters in their series wanted. After doing what some would call “market research” both new and older yet familiar facilities are being utilized featuring different driving challenges at each venue.

The series will offer racing for karters of all ages in a variety of classes ranging from Kid Karts to Sr. Super Sportsman class.

St. Ours is excited to welcome sponsor Liquid Eyewear back for a 2nd year. “I am especially excited to have this fine company back in our karting family. Their presence is important to us here in IKF Region 7”, he stated.
