Two Shifter Classes dropped from Region 7 Sprint Schedule after April 30-May 1, 2005 event in Las Vegas
Mr. Don St. Ours, Region 7 Sprint Coordinator, has announed that the 125 ICC and 125 Moto Shifter classes will be dropped from their series schedule after this coming weekend event in Las Vegas.

What helmets are legal in 2005 for IKF Sanctioned/Insured events?
According to the 2005 IKF Rulebook:
Section 105.1.6.1 Helmets
"Effective January 1, 2004, all helmets used at IKF insured events must meet one of the following standards: Snell K98,Snell M2000, Snell SA2000,SFI 31.2,SFI 41.2 or newer standards of the same type as they become available."

Section 105.1.6.1.1 Youth Helmets
"Helmets for drivers under the attained age of 12 must meet one of the above standards or the SFI 24.1 standard for youth helmets. Compliance with the above adult and youth requirements is part of the pre-tech inspection at each IKF event. No entrant shall enter the track until his helmet has been approved by the Pre-Tech Inspectors."

What happens if I want to participate in an IKF regional race and I do not have my current IKF membership card or receipt?
2005 IKF rulebook-Section 104 Eligibility: "Only members with a current membership may compete in IKF sanctioned events. All entrants at an IKF sanctioned event will be required to SHOW their IKF membership card or receipt for membership at registration. If an entrant has neither, he/she will be required to apply for membership, at the appropriate fees, prior to the race. If a credit or refund is requested by the entrant 90% of the membership fee will be credited or refunded. NO daily memberships will be allowed at IKF sanctioned events." The participant will be required to apply and pay for membership at that the event; a credit or refund will be handled when the event paperwork reaches the IKF office. Expired IKF memberships can be renewed at IKF regional/insured events. Minor release forms must be submitted with the IKF Membership Application for all minors under the age of 18.
